Connecting Instagram Business or Creator Account

Connecting Your Instagram Business or Creator Account

ContentPaul supports Instagram professional accounts, including both "business" and "creator" accounts. Ensure your account type is compatible by checking your Instagram settings. Although connecting your account should take just a few minutes, follow these steps carefully to avoid any issues.

Instagram Connection Essentials

  • Account Type: Ensure your Instagram account is either a business or creator account. If needed, convert your personal profile to a professional account by following Instagram's instructions.
  • Facebook Page Connection: Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page for ContentPaul to connect. Learn how to link your Instagram account to a Facebook Page here.
  • Admin Role Requirement: Your Facebook profile must have an Admin role for the connected Facebook Page. Review Facebook's guide on managing roles to ensure you have the correct permissions.
  • Automatic Story Publishing: To automatically publish Instagram stories, your account must be set as a business account.
  • Follower Count: Due to API restrictions, Instagram data is only available for accounts with 100 or more followers. You can still connect accounts with fewer followers, but no analytics data will be available.

Connecting Your Instagram Account to ContentPaul

  • Convert to a Professional Account: If you haven't already, convert your Instagram personal profile to a business or creator account.
  1. Access ContentPaul Integrations:
    • In ContentPaul, click on Settings in the bottom left corner and select Integrations from the menu.
    • Click Instagram.
  2. Authenticate with Facebook:
    • Click Connect to link your Instagram account. Since Instagram business accounts must be linked to a Facebook Page, you will need to Authenticate with Facebook.
    • Enter your Facebook login credentials and click Login. If you're already signed in, you’ll just need to enter your password and click Continue.
  3. Authorize ContentPaul:
    • Authorize ContentPaul to access your Facebook account by clicking Continue as [name] and then OK on the next prompt.
    • If you see an option to "Choose what you allow," do not modify any permissions. Changing permissions may prevent ContentPaul from connecting to your Instagram account.
  4. Complete the Connection:
    • Select the Instagram account you want to connect and click Add to ContentPaul.
  5. Assign to Workspace:
    • The Facebook pages will now appear.
    • For each Facebook Page you can now assign one or more workspaces.
  6. Confirmation:
    • You should now see a subtitle under the respective Pages indicating it is assigned to the workspace(s) you have selected.
