Implementing Custom Previews

Learn how to connect content blocks with a 1:1 preview in ContentPaul for precise visualization of your final design.

In ContentPaul, you have the capability to connect your content blocks to a 1:1 preview that accurately reflects the final design of your content item, such as a newsletter or blog post. This feature allows you to visualize how text, images, and other elements will appear in their final layout, directly from within the ContentPaul editor.

Understanding SystemID and Content Block Connection

  • SystemID: Each content block within your content item can be connected to a preview field using a unique SystemID. This connection ensures that the content you create in the ContentPaul editor matches the design and layout of the final output.

Requesting a Preview Setup

  • Provisioning Previews: Previews are not automatically available and must be created upon request. To request a preview:
    • Provide the HTML code of the newsletter, blog post, or other content format that you would like to turn into a preview.
    • Submit this HTML to ContentPaul’s support or your designated admin.
  • Preview Implementation: Once requested, ContentPaul will implement the preview into your company’s instance. During this process, ContentPaul will make specific fields (e.g. title, intro text, header image) available for connection.

Connecting Content Blocks to Preview Fields

  • Field Availability: After the preview is implemented, the provisioned fields (such as e.g. title, intro text, header image, etc.), will be accessible for connection.
  • Connecting with SystemID: To link a content block to a specific field in the preview:
    • Assign the appropriate SystemID to each content block that corresponds with a field in the preview.
    • This connection allows the content entered in the editor to display accurately in the 1:1 preview.

Previewing Content in the 1:1 Design

  • Visual Consistency: With the SystemID connections in place, you can now create and edit content within the ContentPaul editor and view it in the 1:1 preview.
  • Final Output Understanding: This real-time preview helps you understand exactly how text, images, and other elements will appear in their final form, ensuring that your content aligns perfectly with the design specifications.

By implementing a 1:1 preview, you can enhance your content creation process in ContentPaul, providing a seamless transition from editing to the final published product.
