Introduction to Templates

Streamline content creation with ContentPaul templates, offering structured frameworks and pre-defined content blocks for consistency.

Templates in ContentPaul are a powerful feature designed to streamline the management of repetitive content items, ensuring consistency and efficiency across your projects. By utilizing templates, users can set up a clear and structured framework that includes all necessary fields, pre-defined and ready for completion by those editing the content. This feature not only saves time but also ensures that content adheres to the required format and standards.

Templates are composed of various content blocks, which are the building units available within the system. These blocks include:

  • Text Content Blocks: These can be either plain text or HTML-styled, allowing for versatile text formatting options.
  • Assets Content Blocks: These blocks are designed to hold any type of asset, such as videos, images, audio files, or other file types, making them ideal for rich media content.
  • Carousel Content Blocks: Perfect for creating carousel elements, commonly used in social media items like stories or carousel posts.
  • Selection Content Blocks: These blocks enable users to select from pre-set values, which can standardize the input across different content items.
  • Checkbox Content Blocks: Similar to selection blocks, these allow users to choose from pre-set values, but in a checkbox format, often used for multi-choice options.
  • Raw Value Content Blocks: These blocks are intended for saving values that might be needed later for calculations or other backend processes.
  • Instruction Content Blocks: Unlike other blocks, these do not allow for input. Instead, they provide guidance and structure within the template, helping users navigate and use the template correctly.

There are three types of templates available in ContentPaul:

  • Global Templates: Provided by ContentPaul, these templates are ideal for content items that require a uniform structure, such as social media posts. They are accessible across all instances of the platform.
  • Company-Wide Templates: These are available to all workspaces within a single company instance of ContentPaul, allowing for standardized content creation across different teams.
  • Workspace Templates: These are specific to a particular workspace and are tailored to meet the needs of that specific team or project.

Additionally, templates in ContentPaul can be connected to previews. This feature, currently offered as a third-party service, allows users to see how the content will appear once published. This is the case for all global templates. While this feature is available now as a implementation service on demand, ContentPaul plans to introduce a self-service solution for previews in the near future.

Using templates effectively can significantly enhance the content creation process, ensuring that all team members work within a consistent and efficient framework.
