Searching for Items

Learn how to search for content by name or text within an item, switch between modes, and open items directly from the search results.

In ContentPaul, users can easily search for content items either by their name or by text contained within an item. The search functionality is flexible and allows for switching between these two modes based on your needs.

Step 1: Using the Search Bar

  1. Search by Name (Default Mode):
    • By default, the search bar is set to search for items by their name.
    • Start typing the name of the content item you're looking for. The search will suggest matching items in a result drop-down below the search bar.
  2. Search by Text Contained in an Item:
    • If you want to search for specific text within the body of an item (e.g., an article, document, or post), click the icon to the right of the search bar that says "Search text within an item."
    • After switching to this mode, type the text you’re looking for, and the system will return items containing that text.

Step 2: Viewing Search Results

  • As you type, the matching results will appear in a drop-down list beneath the search bar.
  • The results will show both item names or items containing the specified text, depending on the search mode you're in.

Step 3: Opening a Content Item

  • Once you locate the desired item in the search results, click on it.
  • The item will open directly in the editor, allowing you to view or make changes to it immediately.

By utilizing these search modes, ContentPaul ensures that users can efficiently find content items, whether they’re searching by name or looking for specific text within a piece of content.
